This Privacy Policy explains how OrangeWeb ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when merchants install or use the Shopify app UTM Order Tracker ("the App").

The App is designed to help Shopify merchants understand which marketing campaigns generated tracked orders by capturing UTM parameters and selected advertising click identifiers.

1. Information We Collect

When a merchant installs and uses the App, we may collect and process the following information:

• Shop information, such as the Shopify shop domain and Shopify shop identifier.
• App installation, billing, subscription, and configuration status.
• Order attribution data required to provide reports, such as Shopify order ID, order name, order timestamp, UTM source, UTM medium, UTM campaign, UTM term, UTM content, landing page, referrer, and supported advertising click IDs.
• Technical logs needed to operate, secure, debug, and maintain the App.

The App does not intentionally collect buyer names, buyer email addresses, buyer phone numbers, shipping addresses, billing addresses, IP addresses, or browser user agents for attribution reporting.

In plain terms, we do not collect or store customer personal data for the App's reporting features. The App is built to store campaign attribution data connected to a Shopify order reference, not to identify, profile, or contact the customer who placed the order.

2. Storefront Tracking

The App uses a lightweight storefront script loaded through a Shopify Theme App Extension. When a visitor lands on the merchant's storefront with UTM parameters or supported advertising click IDs in the URL, the script may store that attribution data in the visitor's browser localStorage for a limited attribution window.

This browser storage is used to carry attribution data into Shopify checkout/order creation so the merchant can later see campaign attribution for tracked orders. The stored data may be cleared if the visitor clears browser storage, uses another browser or device, or if the attribution window expires.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide attribution reports to the merchant inside the App.
• Display attribution data on Shopify order details through app-owned order metafields and an Admin UI extension.
• Verify billing status and enforce plan limits.
• Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App.
• Comply with Shopify platform requirements and applicable legal obligations.

4. Shopify Data and Order Data

The App processes Shopify order webhook data only to the extent necessary to identify and store attribution information for tracked orders. We minimize the order fields requested and processed by the App where Shopify allows webhook payload filtering.

The App does not require customer names, customer email addresses, customer phone numbers, shipping addresses, billing addresses, payment details, or customer account data to provide attribution reports.

Attribution data may be written back to Shopify orders as app-owned metafields so merchants can view the attribution inside Shopify Admin. The App does not automatically add Shopify order tags or modify customer information.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share information only with service providers and infrastructure providers that help us operate the App, such as hosting, database, logging, or monitoring providers, and only as needed to provide and maintain the App.

We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, Shopify platform requirements, or to protect the rights, property, or security of us, merchants, customers, or others.

6. Data Retention

We retain attribution data while the App is installed and active, unless deletion is required earlier by law or by a valid Shopify privacy request. If a merchant uninstalls the App, we stop processing new shop activity. We delete shop-level App data in our database when Shopify sends the applicable shop redaction request or when deletion is otherwise required.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information processed by the App.

8. Merchant Responsibilities

Merchants are responsible for providing any required notices, cookie disclosures, consent mechanisms, or privacy disclosures to their own customers, as required by applicable laws and by the merchant's own use of marketing, advertising, analytics, and Shopify tools.

9. Your Rights and Requests

Merchants may contact us to request access, correction, export, or deletion of App data, subject to applicable law and Shopify platform requirements. Shopify customers should contact the merchant directly for privacy requests related to their order or customer data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and may notify merchants through the App, by email, or by another reasonable method.
